The enterprise started in 1940 led by siblings Dick and Mac McDonald in San Bernardino, California. Their concept of a "Speedee Service System" in 1948 became the stronghold of a modern fast-food chain. The mascot of McDonald's was firstly a man wearing a chef's hat on top of a hamburger shaped head. His name was "Speedee." After a while, Speedee was changed into Ronald McDonald in 1968.
